America no Miracle

America no Miracle bezieht sich auf This is not a Miracle von David Bowie und California Dreaming von den Mamas und Papas.
Bowies Stück beginnt mit einem synthetisches Glück verheissenden Keyboard-Klang, der sich in harmonischer Progression abwärts bewegt. Die plastiline Glätte dieses Klangs und der Abstieg sind wesentliche Elemente meines Stücks. Im Gegensatz dazu stehen die Holz- und Fruchtrasselklänge. Dann folgt „Flower Power California“: eine Sitar rückwärts abgespielt....Trommeln... Das Ende des Stücks erzählt von den Ureinwohnern Kaliforniens, die am California Dreaming nicht mehr teilnehmen können. Über 50 Indianerstämme wurden dort ausgerottet, die Namen dieser Stämme modifizieren die Obertonstruktur meiner Metalltrommelklänge.

America no Miracle refers to This is not a Miracle by David Bowie and California Dreaming by the Mamas and the Papas.
Bowie's piece opens with a keyboard sound that promises synthetic happiness, and moves downward in harmonic progression. The artificial smoothness of this sound and the descent are vital elements of my piece. The sound from the wooden rattle and fruit rattle form a counterpart. This is followed by "Flower Power California“: a sitar played backwards... drumming... The end of the piece talks about the original inhabitants of California who are no longer able to participate in California Dreaming. More then 50 Indian clans were eradicated there, and the names of these clans modify the overtone structure of my metal drum sounds.
